"My Machine" is an angry song about what for many of us is still a dull and meaningless work life that robs us of time for the things that really matter to us.

The song is dedicated to Silvia's mother. In the early 1960s she came to Germany from Italy with her husband. In her hometown Naples there was no work or future for her. In Germany, however, there was work. What awaited her here, however, was xenophobia and hard labor on the assembly line in three shifts. For 30 years she worked at her machine in the car factory in Mannheim, until her bones were tired and her body just couldn't take it anymore. She left all her dreams, aspirations and health in that factory, took it all on herself, just to be able to offer her family a better life.
